“Know where to find the information and how to use it - That's the secret of success”
- Albert Einstein*

Do you know that many medical treatments are based on little or no proof of long-term safety or effectiveness? 1

This section of the Web site is to heighten awareness into people and organizations that can provide you with additional information that is not biased, in order to increase your understanding of your particular illness.

It is important and a fundamental premise of Patient Advocacy Services that common medical decisions be made by looking beyond the medical dogma.  We hope that you make your providers, who profit from health care, accountable for the safety and quality of the products and services they are providing, and that you can make a truly informed decision because you have had the potential risks and benefits explained.

"Every fact that is learned becomes a key to other facts."
- Edward L. Youmans*

Whether you are a family member, friend or caregiver, keep in mind that no one experiences disease and injury as the patient does. Because of the intensely personal nature of illness, even patients with the same diagnosis often report very different accounts of their condition and what it means to them.

This Resource Library is intended to expand your knowledge of diseases and their treatments. It is for information only and is not intended to replace nor should it be used to replace consultation and diagnosis with a licensed medical provider. Inclusion of this information does not constitute endorsement of any kind by Patient Advocacy Services.

For any medical emergency call 911 immediately.
